Overview

Xingshen Jieyu Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula used primarily for the treatment of post-stroke depression and other mood disorders. The decoction is composed of multiple herbs, with its formulation based on TCM principles aimed at regulating the balance between Th1/Th2 immune responses and modulating neurotrophic factors such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)[1][9]. Pharmacological studies suggest that it exerts antidepressant effects by influencing neurotransmitter systems, including glutamate and GABA metabolism, restoring excitatory/inhibitory balance in the brain[10], and modulating immune function. It is typically administered as a decocted liquid or granule preparation.
