Overview

Xinkai Kujiang Tiaoshu Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is specifically designed for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). The decoction follows the TCM therapeutic principle of "Xinkai Kujiang" (Acrid Opening and Bitter Down-draining), which involves using acrid herbs to disperse cold and bitter herbs to clear heat and drain downward, thereby harmonizing the stomach and regulating the "pivot" (Tiaoshu) of the middle jiao. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving gastric mucosal atrophy and clinical symptoms in patients with CAG.
