Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xinmaikang (XMK) is a Chinese herbal compound developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary heart disease and angina pectoris. It is typically administered as a capsule. The drug's mechanism involves the activation of the PINK1/Parkin signaling pathway, which promotes macrophage mitophagy. This process leads to a reduction in reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and lipid accumulation, thereby inhibiting the progression of atherosclerosis. Clinical evaluation has focused on its efficacy in patients presenting with qi stagnation, blood stasis, and phlegm obstruction syndrome.
