Xinmailong is a bioactive peptide preparation extracted and purified from the American cockroach (*Periplaneta americana*). Approved by the State Pharmaceutical Administration of China, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure. The drug consists of complex nucleoside bases and binding amino acids. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels, improving cardiac diastolic function, and mitigating chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity in breast cancer patients. It is also being investigated for its role in treating sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction (SIMD).
