Overview
Xinshuaifang granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. It is formulated to target chronic heart failure (CHF), specifically in patients presenting with the TCM syndrome pattern of qi deficiency and blood stasis. The granules are administered orally as an adjunctive therapy alongside standard Western medical treatments. Mechanistically, the formulation is designed to benefit qi, promote blood circulation, and resolve blood stasis (Yiqi Huoxue method), thereby improving cardiac function, exercise tolerance, and clinical outcomes such as peak oxygen consumption in heart failure patients. It has been evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial in China.
