Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xintong Keli (心通颗粒) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound granule formulation. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including astragalus (黄芪), angelica sinensis (当归), salvia miltiorrhiza (丹参), Aucklandia lappa (木香), cassia twig (桂枝), ginseng root (人参), poria cocos (茯苓), and atractylodes macrocephala (白术). The product appears as yellow-brown granules with a slightly sweet and bitter taste. Its primary TCM functions are to tonify qi, nourish yin, soften hardness, and resolve phlegm. Clinically, it is used for syndromes characterized by dual deficiency of qi and yin with phlegm-stasis obstruction in the chest—manifesting as chest pain, palpitations, chest tightness or shortness of breath, irritability or fatigue[1][10]. The mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—improving circulation ("invigorating blood"), nourishing heart function ("tonifying qi/yin"), resolving stasis and phlegm—but specific molecular targets are not defined in Western pharmacology. It is mainly indicated for angina pectoris/chest pain due to coronary artery disease when these symptoms fit the described TCM pattern[1][10].
