Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xinyi Powder (also known as Xinyi San or Magnolia Flower Powder) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula primarily indicated for the treatment of nasal conditions, including allergic rhinitis and chronic sinusitis, particularly those characterized by the 'lung qi deficiency and cold' syndrome. The formula consists of ten Chinese herbal medicines in equal proportions: Xinyi (Magnolia flower), Xixin (Asarum), Gaoben (Ligusticum), Shengma (Cimicifuga), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum chuanxiong), Mutong (Clematis), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia), Qianghuo (Notopterygium), Baizhi (Angelica dahurica), and Gancao (Licorice). It works by dispelling wind-cold, reducing nasal congestion, and modulating immune responses, such as suppressing IgE levels and balancing Th1/Th2 cytokines. Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has evaluated Xinyi Powder in clinical trials for allergic rhinitis.
