Xinzhijun

Xinzhijun is a combination antibiotic product developed by Xiangbei Welman Pharmaceutical. It consists of cefotaxime sodium, a third-generation cephalosporin, and sulbactam sodium, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, in a 2:1 ratio. Cefotaxime exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Sulbactam acts as a suicide inhibitor of beta-lactamases, protecting cefotaxime from enzymatic degradation and extending its activity against beta-lactamase-producing strains. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute bacterial respiratory tract infections and urinary tract infections. It is administered as a sterile powder for intravenous injection and has been evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials in China to assess its efficacy and safety in real-world clinical conditions.
