Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xionglong Zhitong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Beijing Yikangtai Technology Co., Ltd., specifically indicated for the treatment of migraine. The drug is composed of herbal and animal-derived extracts, most notably *Ligusticum chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong) and *Lumbricus* (Dilong/Earthworm). Its therapeutic rationale is based on TCM principles of activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and unblocking collaterals to alleviate pain. Pharmacologically, Xionglong Zhitong is believed to improve cerebral microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and modulate vasoactive substances such as serotonin (5-HT) and nitric oxide. The drug has been evaluated in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials in China, demonstrating efficacy in reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.
