Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiongzhi Dilong Decoction (XZDLD) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula derived from the classical prescription "Xiongzhi Shigao decoction" in Yi-zong-jin-jian. It is primarily used for the treatment of migraine and has demonstrated efficacy in experimental models of chronic migraine. Mechanistically, XZDLD exerts anti-migraine effects by modulating tryptophan and tyrosine metabolic pathways, reducing plasma levels of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP), inhibiting inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression, and suppressing phosphorylation of p38 MAPK. These actions collectively increase pain threshold and reduce neurogenic inflammation associated with migraine[1][2][3].
