Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XJ-PLT-001 is an in vitro-regenerated platelet injection cell therapy being developed by Suzhou Xueji Biotechnology (also operating internationally as HemaCell Biotechnology). The therapy is produced from hematopoietic stem cells as the source cells without any gene editing, utilizing a serum-free, feeder-free, and immortalization-free directed differentiation system to generate high-quality, large-scale, and stable platelet cells for transfusion. XJ-PLT-001 is designed to address the clinical shortage of platelets and treat platelet-related disorders. It has received two Orphan Drug Designations (ODD) from the U.S. FDA for the treatment of Bernard-Soulier syndrome (BSS) and congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia (CAMT).
