XJ106-1 is a recombinant fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Xingji Biopharmaceuticals (Beijing) Co., Ltd. for the emergency prophylaxis of tetanus. It is designed to target and neutralize the tetanus toxin (tetanospasmin) produced by *Clostridium tetani*, preventing the toxin from binding to nerve endings and causing the severe muscular spasms characteristic of the disease. As a recombinant biologic, XJ106-1 aims to provide a standardized and safer alternative to traditional equine-derived tetanus antitoxin (TAT), which carries a high risk of hypersensitivity reactions, and human-derived tetanus immune globulin (TIG), which is limited by donor supply and potential pathogen transmission risks. The drug is administered as a single intramuscular injection and is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials in China to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity in healthy adult volunteers.
