Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XJN026 is an intranasal spray formulation of rizatriptan, a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) 1B/1D receptor agonist (triptan). Developed by Guangzhou Xinjie Pharmaceutical Technology and Yingu Pharmaceutical, it is intended for the acute treatment of migraine attacks. The nasal delivery route is designed to provide rapid absorption and a faster onset of action compared to oral tablets, which may be particularly beneficial for patients experiencing migraine-associated nausea or vomiting. As of 2024, XJN026 is in Phase I clinical development in China, where it is being evaluated for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in comparison to rizatriptan benzoate tablets.
