XKDCT086 is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. The therapy is engineered to target Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a tight junction protein that is highly expressed in several solid tumors, including gastric, esophageal, and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinomas, while remaining largely absent in healthy tissues. A distinguishing feature of XKDCT086 is the inclusion of an "iPD-1" component, which is designed to block the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway, thereby preventing T-cell exhaustion and enhancing the potency of the CAR-T cells within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 exploratory clinical trial to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with CLDN18.2-positive advanced solid malignancies.
