XL-085

XL-085 is a PASylated interferon-lambda (IFN-lambda) being developed by XL-protein for the treatment of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). The drug utilizes XL-protein's proprietary PASylation technology, which involves the genetic fusion of a protein with a conformationally disordered polypeptide sequence consisting of Proline, Alanine, and Serine (PAS). This modification significantly increases the hydrodynamic volume of the protein, thereby reducing renal clearance and extending its plasma half-life. IFN-lambda is a type III interferon that exhibits immunomodulatory properties with a more restricted receptor distribution compared to type I interferons, potentially offering a better safety profile in inflammatory conditions like GvHD.
