Overview

XL310 is a preclinical-stage bispecific PASylated protein developed by XL-protein for the treatment of metabolic diseases, including obesity and type 2 diabetes. The therapeutic candidate is a fusion protein comprising exendin-4, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, and Peptide YY (PYY), which targets the neuropeptide Y receptor Y2 (NPY2R). To enhance its pharmacokinetic profile, the bispecific construct is modified using XL-protein's proprietary PASylation technology, which involves the genetic fusion of a Pro-Ala-Ser (PAS) polypeptide sequence to increase the hydrodynamic volume and extend the plasma half-life. This dual-agonist approach is designed to leverage the complementary pathways of GLP-1 and PYY for improved appetite control and glycemic management.
