Overview
XNW26018 is an orally administered, novel macrolide antibiotic (Class 1 innovative drug in China) developed by Evopoint Biosciences. It is designed to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis by targeting the 50S ribosomal subunit. XNW26018 exhibits a broad antibacterial spectrum covering key pathogens associated with community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP), such as *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, *Mycoplasma pneumoniae*, and *Haemophilus influenzae*. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia and other susceptible bacterial infections.
