XP-005 is a personalized neoantigen-based mRNA tumor vaccine developed by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. It is designed to target patient-specific mutations (neoantigens) identified through genomic sequencing of an individual's tumor. By delivering mRNA encoding these unique neoantigens, the vaccine aims to stimulate a robust T-cell mediated immune response against residual leukemic cells. XP-005 is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), specifically targeting patients who are in remission but remain minimal residual disease (MRD) positive and are ineligible for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The vaccine is often studied as a monotherapy or in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors like toripalimab to enhance anti-tumor efficacy.
