Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XP-828L is an orally administered, growth factor-enriched protein extract derived from bovine sweet whey, developed by Advitech for the treatment of mild to moderate psoriasis. Commercialized under the brand name Dermylex, it is classified as a nutraceutical or natural health product. The compound exhibits immunomodulatory properties; in vitro studies have shown that it inhibits the proliferation of T-cells (specifically ConA-stimulated splenocytes) and modulates cytokine production. Clinical trials have demonstrated that daily oral intake of XP-828L (ranging from 800 mg to 5 g) significantly improves Physician's Global Assessment (PGA) scores and reduces disease severity in patients with psoriasis.
