Overview

XPACE-2004 is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by Xanadu Bio for the prevention of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine utilizes Xanadu Bio's proprietary PACE (Polymer for Advancement of Cell Engineering) platform, which employs polymer nanoparticles to deliver mRNA encoding an RSV antigen directly to the airway epithelium. This mucosal delivery approach (likely via intranasal or inhaled administration) is designed to induce local immunity in the respiratory tract, potentially providing a more effective barrier against viral entry and transmission compared to traditional systemic vaccines. As of early 2025, XPACE-2004 is in the lead optimization and preclinical development stage as part of a partnered infectious disease program.
