XPACE-2005 is a trivalent mRNA vaccine candidate developed by Xanadu Bio, designed to provide simultaneous protection against COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Utilizing the proprietary PACE (Polymer for Advancement of Cell Engineering) platform, the vaccine employs polymer nanoparticles to deliver mRNA encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, influenza hemagglutinin (HA), and an RSV antigen directly to the airway epithelium. This mucosal delivery approach, intended for intranasal or inhaled administration, is designed to induce local immunity at the primary site of viral entry, potentially offering enhanced protection against infection and transmission compared to traditional systemic vaccines. As of early 2025, the program is in the lead optimization stage of preclinical development.
