Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xpcos M is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing metformin (500 mg) and myo-inositol (600 mg), developed and marketed by Med Manor Organics. It is primarily indicated for the management of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and associated metabolic and hormonal imbalances, such as insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, and irregular menstrual cycles. Metformin, a biguanide antidiabetic agent, works by improving peripheral insulin sensitivity, reducing hepatic glucose production, and decreasing intestinal glucose absorption. Myo-inositol, a naturally occurring carbocyclic sugar and insulin sensitizer, acts as an intracellular second messenger precursor that enhances insulin signaling, supports ovarian function, and helps restore normal ovulation and hormonal balance. Together, these components provide a synergistic effect to address both the metabolic and reproductive symptoms of PCOS.
