Overview

XSO101 is an inhalable exosome-based therapeutic developed by Xsome Biotech for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP). It is the lead candidate of the NatEx™ (XO100-Series) platform, which utilizes naturally-derived exosomes and secretome harvested from lung spheroid cells (LSCs). These exosomes are designed to be delivered directly to the lungs via inhalation to modulate inflammatory and fibrotic pathways, potentially reversing or halting the progression of lung tissue scarring. The drug represents a biologic modality using extracellular vesicles as the therapeutic agent to deliver a complex mixture of bioactive molecules that target the underlying pathology of fibrotic lung diseases.
