Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XSTEM-OA is an allogeneic, adipose tissue-derived, integrin alpha10beta1-selected and expanded mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) product developed for the treatment of osteoarthritis, specifically knee osteoarthritis. The product is designed to be administered as a single intra-articular injection. Its mechanism of action leverages the regenerative and immunomodulatory properties of MSCs, aiming to regenerate damaged joint cartilage, reduce pain, improve joint function, and potentially slow or reverse disease progression. XSTEM-OA is currently in clinical development with ongoing Phase 2 trials evaluating its safety and preliminary efficacy in patients with moderate knee osteoarthritis (Kellgren-Lawrence grade II-III). The drug was initially developed by Xintela AB and is being clinically advanced by Xindu Pty Ltd[1][2][5][7].
