Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**XTL-001** is an investigational fixed-combination passive immunotherapy comprising the fully human anti-hepatitis B surface antigen monoclonal antibodies **exbivirumab** and **libivirumab**. The antibodies bind distinct epitopes on hepatitis B virus surface antigen, neutralizing circulating virus and reducing the potential for escape variants. XTL Biopharmaceuticals developed the product for chronic hepatitis B virus infection and prevention of hepatitis B virus reinfection after liver transplantation; Cubist later licensed and advanced the program. The program reached Phase II studies but was discontinued after Cubist ended the license agreement in July 2007.
