Overview

XTL6001 is an investigational biologic tri-agonist peptide that simultaneously activates the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), glucagon receptor (GCGR), and Mas receptor (MasR), being described as the first GLP-1R/GCGR/MasR triple-target agonist to obtain IND clearance in both China and the United States and to enter clinical trials. Preclinical data indicate that this multi-receptor profile enables weight loss via non–appetite-suppressing mechanisms, preservation of muscle mass, and multi-organ protection, supporting potential use in chronic weight management for obese or overweight individuals, proteinuric chronic kidney disease, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).[1][2][7][12] XTL6001 is being developed by Shanghai Xitaili Biomedical Technology and is currently in a Phase I, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial as a subcutaneous injection in healthy and obese adult subjects to evaluate safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.[1][3][11][12][14]
