Overview

XTR016 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent developed by Sinotau Pharmaceutical Group. It specifically targets fibroblast activation protein (FAP), a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly overexpressed in the stroma of more than 90% of epithelial carcinomas, including breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers. XTR016 is designed for use in positron emission tomography (PET) or single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) to visualize FAP-expressing tumors and their microenvironment. It serves as the diagnostic component of a theranostic pair, with XTR017 being the corresponding therapeutic radiopharmaceutical. This approach allows for the identification and selection of patients who are likely to benefit from FAP-targeted radionuclide therapy. The drug is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in China, including investigator-initiated trials (IITs).
