Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XTR021 is a lutetium-177 labeled radiopharmaceutical being developed by Sinotau Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It is a radioligand therapy that targets the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells. Upon binding, the compound is internalized, delivering ionizing radiation directly to the tumor cells to induce DNA damage and cell death. In investigator-initiated trials, XTR021 has shown enhanced internalization efficiency and rapid prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response compared to standard 177Lu-PSMA-617, potentially offering improved efficacy and reduced toxicity.
