Overview

XTR025 is a targeted radiopharmaceutical candidate developed by Sinotau Pharmaceutical Group for the imaging and potential treatment of Glypican-3 (GPC3)-expressing malignancies, primarily hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). GPC3 is a cell-surface oncofetal protein that is highly overexpressed in HCC but has minimal expression in healthy adult tissues, making it a highly specific biomarker for liver cancer. XTR025 consists of a GPC3-targeting peptide ligand conjugated to a radionuclide, such as Gallium-68 (68Ga) for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. This allows for high-sensitivity detection, staging, and monitoring of GPC3-positive lesions. The platform is also amenable to theranostic applications, where the imaging isotope can be replaced with a therapeutic isotope like Lutetium-177 (177Lu) to deliver targeted radiation directly to tumor cells.
