Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xtralite Mild Cream is a topical dermatological combination cream developed by La Pristine Bioceuticals for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris, melasma, and hyperpigmentation. It is formulated with a synergistic blend of 10% azelaic acid and 0.025% tretinoin. Azelaic acid acts as a competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase to reduce melanin production and hyperpigmentation, while also exerting anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects against *Cutibacterium acnes*. Tretinoin, a topical retinoid, acts as an agonist of nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RAR-alpha, RAR-beta, and RAR-gamma) to accelerate epidermal cell turnover, normalize follicular keratinization, and prevent pore blockage. Together, these active ingredients promote skin renewal, improve skin texture, and fade dark spots with a lower risk of irritation compared to higher-strength retinoid formulations.
