Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XTS001 is a small molecule inhibitor of Voltage-dependent anion channel 1 (VDAC1) oligomerization being developed by X-tosis for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. By preventing the oligomerization of VDAC1, XTS001 aims to restore mitochondrial function and prevent mitochondrial-mediated cell death, which is a key driver in neurodegeneration. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development.
