Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XTYW007 is an orally bioavailable small molecule and a highly selective agonist of the thyroid hormone receptor beta (THR-β), currently under development by Xi'an Xintong Pharmaceutical Research Co., Ltd. By specifically targeting the THR-β isoform predominantly expressed in the liver, XTYW007 aims to stimulate hepatic lipid metabolism, reduce intrahepatic fat accumulation, and lower circulating levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides. This selective approach is designed to avoid the systemic adverse effects associated with thyroid hormone receptor alpha (THR-α) activation, such as tachycardia and bone mineral density loss. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and hypercholesterolemia.
