Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuanbai Shengmai Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Southeast University in China for the treatment of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). It is a combination of two classical TCM formulas: Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction, which is traditionally used to clear lung heat and resolve phlegm, and Shengmai Decoction, which is used to replenish qi and nourish yin. In the context of ARDS, the decoction is intended to provide multi-target immune regulation to mitigate the cytokine storm and lung tissue damage. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials as an adjunctive therapy to standard Western medical care, with the goal of improving survival rates and clinical outcomes in critically ill patients.
