Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuanbi Antong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Guang’anmen Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) for the treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD) and stable angina pectoris. Based on the TCM principle of "resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis," the formula is specifically indicated for patients presenting with phlegm-stasis syndrome. It typically consists of a combination of herbs including *Trichosanthes kirilowii*, *Allium macrostemon*, and *Salvia miltiorrhiza*. Clinical research suggests that Xuanbi Antong improves clinical symptoms, reduces the frequency and duration of angina attacks, and lowers levels of inflammatory biomarkers such as TNF-α and IL-6. It is primarily used as a hospital preparation in China and has been evaluated in various clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety profile in cardiovascular care.
