Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuanhuang Runtong Pian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tablet developed by the Hunan Academy of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of constipation associated with yin deficiency. In TCM theory, yin deficiency leads to a lack of moisture in the large intestine, resulting in dry stools and difficult defecation. The formulation is designed to nourish yin and moisten the intestines to facilitate bowel movements. It is currently being evaluated in a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase III clinical trial in China to confirm its safety and therapeutic efficacy over a 4-week treatment course.
