Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuanling Yinhuang Formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction developed by Beijing Ditan Hospital, Capital Medical University, for the treatment of central nervous system infections. It is primarily used as an adjunctive therapy for adult patients with viral encephalitis and viral meningitis, particularly those presenting with specific TCM syndromes such as phlegm-heat or damp-heat affecting the brain. In clinical trials, it is often evaluated in combination with Angong Niuhuang Bolus alongside standard Western antiviral and supportive treatments. The formula aims to clear heat, resolve phlegm, and detoxify the system to reduce neurological symptoms and improve recovery outcomes.
