Overview
Xuanyu Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation currently under investigation for its therapeutic potential in treating Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD). Research indicates that this multi-component herbal preparation contains various active chemical constituents, including β-Carboline-1-propionic acid, Morin, Afzelin, Schizandrin, and Gomisin A. Its mechanism of action is predicted to involve modulating multiple biological targets such as AKT1, TNF, TP53, IL6, SRC, IL1B, EGFR, JUN, BCL2, and CASP3. The drug is also thought to influence key signaling pathways, including the IL-17 signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, and AGE-RAGE signaling pathway, which are relevant to DKD pathogenesis. In preclinical studies, Xuanyu Granules has demonstrated effects in lowering fasting blood glucose, improving renal function, and reducing proteinuria in rat models of DKD.
