Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xucox 90 is a generic oral formulation of etoricoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, developed and marketed by Zaiva Lifesciences. As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), it is primarily used to manage moderate pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis. It is also indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate pain following dental surgery. By selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, it reduces the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins while minimizing the gastrointestinal side effects typically associated with non-selective NSAIDs. The drug is commercially available in India as a 90mg tablet.
