Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuefu Zhuyu oral liquid (XZOL), also known as Xuefu Zhuyu Koufuye, is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation manufactured by Jilin Aodong Yanbian Pharmaceutical. Based on the classical Xuefu Zhuyu decoction from the Qing Dynasty, it is composed of 11 herbs, including peach kernel, safflower, Rehmannia glutinosa, and Angelica sinensis. The drug was approved by the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) in 2002 and is included in the Chinese Pharmacopeia. It is indicated for conditions characterized by Qi-stagnation and blood-stasis, such as stable angina, tension-type headache, and primary dysmenorrhea. Pharmacologically, XZOL has been shown to enhance angiogenesis in vascular endothelial cells, inhibit inflammation and platelet aggregation, and alleviate oxidative stress. Key quality control markers for the formulation include paeoniflorin, naringin, glycyrrhizic acid, ferulic acid, and hydroxysafflor yellow A.
