Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuelian Injection is a traditional Uighur medicine extract derived from *Saussurea involucrata* (Tianshan snow lotus). Developed by Xinjiang Yinduolan Uighur Medicine, it is an injectable herbal product used primarily for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. The preparation contains active compounds such as chlorogenic acid and rutin. Its pharmacological action is characterized by anti-inflammatory effects, specifically through the inhibition of the Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathway, which leads to a reduction in inflammatory mediators like TNF-α, IL-1β, and MMP-9. It has been used clinically in China for approximately twenty years and is approved for use in Chinese hospitals.
