Overview
Xuesetong capsule is a Chinese Patent Medicine (CPM) containing total saponins extracted from *Panax notoginseng* (PNS). It is widely utilized in clinical practice in China for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, particularly ischemic stroke and coronary heart disease. The therapeutic effects are attributed to its ability to inhibit platelet aggregation, reduce blood viscosity, improve microcirculation, and provide neuroprotection by mitigating oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. In the context of stroke recovery, it is used to improve neurological function and activities of daily living during the convalescence phase.
