Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XVR013m is a broadly neutralizing, heavy chain-only antibody (VHH-FC format) developed for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. It targets a unique, membrane-proximal epitope in the S2 subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein—a region that remains completely unmutated across all known variants of concern, interest, and under monitoring. This makes XVR013m "variant-proof," with exceptional neutralization potency demonstrated against both pre-Omicron and Omicron strains, including JN.1 and other currently circulating variants (IC50 = 2.8 ng/mL in pseudovirus assays). The drug is being developed specifically to address unmet needs in immunocompromised and elderly populations who are at higher risk for severe COVID-19 due to inadequate vaccine responses[2][4][5][6]. Clinical development is planned to begin in 2025[2][4][6].
