Overview

XW-LTH-03 is an investigational, next-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer. This bispecific CAR-T product is designed to simultaneously target CD73 (ecto-5'-nucleotidase) and AXL (a receptor tyrosine kinase), both of which are frequently overexpressed in the gastric cancer tumor microenvironment and associated with immunosuppression and metastasis. A distinctive feature of XW-LTH-03 is its hypoxia-inducible design, which aims to restrict CAR expression or activity to the hypoxic conditions typically found within solid tumors, thereby potentially reducing off-tumor toxicities and enhancing therapeutic precision in the treatment of stage IV gastric cancer.
