Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XW015 is a long-acting, peptide-based amylin receptor agonist being developed by Hangzhou Sciwind Biosciences for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes. As an amylin analog, it mimics the effects of the endogenous hormone amylin, which is co-secreted with insulin to regulate postprandial glucose levels, enhance satiety, and reduce appetite. Through peptide engineering, Sciwind has addressed the stability challenges typically associated with amylin at neutral pH, potentially allowing XW015 to be co-formulated with GLP-1 receptor agonists. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is being developed globally in partnership with Verdiva Bio for markets outside of Greater China and South Korea.
