XW10508 is an orally bioavailable, once-daily small molecule drug in development as a novel analog of esketamine. It acts as a glutamatergic N-methyl D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist and AMPA receptor agonist/activator. The drug is designed to provide fast-acting relief for treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD) and chronic pain, with improved tolerability and potential abuse-deterrent properties compared to existing ketamine-based therapies.
