XY03-EA is a novel small molecule compound derived from L-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP), developed for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. It demonstrates neuroprotective effects by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS), inhibiting ROS-dependent autophagy activation, and reducing autophagic cell death in neural cells. Preclinical studies in rodent and nonhuman primate models show that XY03-EA increases cerebral blood flow, improves brain energy metabolism, accelerates ROS clearance, suppresses inflammatory responses, and inhibits autophagy following ischemia/reperfusion injury. These mechanisms contribute to its potential as a therapeutic agent for acute ischemic stroke[1][4][2].
