XYD-9668-198 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor specifically targeting the KRAS G12C mutation. Developed by Kunshan Xinyunda Biotechnology, it is designed to treat advanced solid tumors, such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and colorectal cancer, that harbor this specific genetic alteration. The drug functions by covalently binding to the cysteine residue of the KRAS G12C protein in its inactive GDP-bound state. This interaction traps the protein in an inactive conformation, effectively blocking the downstream signaling pathways, such as the MAPK/ERK pathway, that are responsible for uncontrolled tumor cell growth and survival. XYD-9668-198 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity in patients with advanced malignancies.
