Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xymency is an all-oral, twice-daily fixed-dose combination therapy developed by Bristol Myers Squibb for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1 infection. Approved in Japan in December 2016, the combination consists of three direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) with distinct mechanisms of action: daclatasvir (a pangenotypic NS5A inhibitor), asunaprevir (an NS3/4A protease inhibitor), and beclabuvir (a non-nucleoside NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase inhibitor). By targeting three essential viral proteins simultaneously, Xymency increases the genetic barrier to resistance and achieves high rates of sustained virologic response (SVR) in treatment-naive and interferon-experienced patients, particularly those with genotype 1b infection.
