XZP-5610

XZP-5610 is a novel, non-steroidal small molecule agonist of the farnesoid X receptor (FXR) developed by Xuanzhu Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). It has demonstrated potent FXR agonistic activity in preclinical studies, effectively modulating downstream gene expression, reducing serum biomarkers, and improving key NASH histopathological features. XZP-5610 exhibits high permeability, poor solubility, and extensive plasma protein binding (>98%). The drug is currently being evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) in healthy adults. No approved therapies for NASH exist in China as of now; thus XZP-5610 aims to address this unmet medical need[1][2][6].
