Y-90 FAPI is a targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy consisting of the beta-emitting radioisotope Yttrium-90 (Y-90) conjugated to a Fibroblast Activation Protein Inhibitor (FAPI) molecule. This radioligand therapy specifically targets Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP), a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly overexpressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor microenvironment of various solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). By binding to FAP, the compound delivers localized ionizing radiation directly to the tumor stroma, inducing DNA damage and cell death in both the fibroblasts and adjacent malignant cells. It is currently being investigated in Phase II clinical trials by the Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu Education and Research Hospital for patients with chemotherapy-resistant metastatic NSCLC.
